Digital Marketing Update – July 2017
Who decided to put the 4th of July on a Tuesday this year? 2 off, 1 on, 1 off, 3 on…that’s a tough schedule to like! Anyhow, we hope you made it back to the office with all your fingers.
Let’s get down to business.
In this month’s digital update, we look at Site Structure, Consumer Journey, CTA Psychology, and more.
Marketing Stat of the Month
Impulse Buying & Persona’s
"Only 5.7% of all newly published pages will get to Google Top 10 within a year."
One of the hardest things to explain to people looking into SEO, is "when will my site start getting traffic?" Thank goodness for people like ahref’s who do good studies to really look into these kind of things. We tell people all the time SEO is a marathon. But once you get into that top 10, it’s smooth sailing…yet you need a strong mast to keep it going!
Seasonal Trends & Events
A quick look at what’s trending now and what’s coming up in the near future that you might want to start planning for.
You know sometimes it’s just plain difficult to come up with a trend or event but holy smokes, Parents Day!? That’s just a no brainer. We’ve all got them, some of us may be them, in any case we should think about thanking them!
What a unique opportunity for marketing here. Not everyone is going to be doing something for Parents Day, so this is your chance to stand out. Contact us if you need help or ideas of how to take advantage of this special day.
Bonus Trivia Question: True or False: On July 4th, 1776, the resolution of independence was approved in a closed session of Congress. (Keep reading for the answer)

Bonus Trivia Answer: FALSE: The date shown on the Declaration of Independence is July 4, 1776 however Congress approved of the resolution on July 2, 1776. Sorry, I kind of tricked you with the wording. Another bit of interesting trivia is that most historians think the Declaration was actually signed on August 2nd, 1776, nearly a month after its adoption and not on July 4th as is commonly believed.
