History of CRO Chat

CRO Chat was originally hosted by Ion Interactive at the beginning of 2010, but they were unable to continue in it’s original form in 2011 and the chats were no longer held.

When researching current hashtags and chats to participate in early this year it became clear that #CROchat needed to make a comeback. I decided to reach out to Ion to see if they would mind it I got the ball rolling again. They were very encouraging and more than willing to provide assistance.

    Hi,

    Could we have some guest speakers (e.g. Amy africa on mobile conversion) who cover a subject area or are good at immediate answers and tips.

    I’d be up for doing a Q&A on a few topics myself – let me know your thoughts.

    I’d also be keen to hear ‘editorial’ policy and sponsorships situation – quite a few companies on the list and I appreciate balance in the thrust and impartiality of any discussion. Just keen to hear your thinking.

    C.

    @Craig Sullivan,

    We’re up for guests to be interviewed in a Q&A format. We have a few initial topics already worked out, but are interested in other CRO professionals to get involved.

    As to “editorial policy” – #CROchat is an open discussion where everyone is free to participate. Justin and myself will be hosting and asking the questions, but participants are welcome to add their input as they are so inclined.

    For the “sponsorships situation” – Since CRO Chat is an open platform, we are not going to take on Chat sponsors. Ion Interactive and Which Test Won have both stepped up to participate and help push the chat forward based on their own passion and commitment for CRO. That being said, neither have made a monetary overture or pushed for a commercially biased agenda, and have both been extremely great in helping kick start #CROchat.

    To get a better idea of the type of community and format of #CROchat, I’d suggest checking out #PPCchat (https://twitter.com/search/ppcchat) to give yourself a feeling for what this chat is intended to be… but with it’s own unique personality:)

    Best wishes,
    James

    Great – thank you for such a detailed and useful response.

    Look forward to next week.

    Regards,

    Craig.

    I agree with Craig on the idea of guest speakers. I have never kept up to date when it comes to things such as this so I am going to take a look at a few of the chats that are already posted. It seems like a phenominal idea. I’ll give you more feedback once I check them out.
